Good advice is good.

A successful business person once told me that you only need three friends in life… an accountant, a banker and a lawyer.

Obviously he was being a little witty but his point was well taken. In my experience, I have come to see how right he was about the importance of these individuals.

Today I was able to spend a litle bit of time with 3 lovely ladies from Venture Law Associates. All lawyers, Naomi, Susan and Suzie showed me a side of lawyers I rarely see… lawyers are people too. And they’re funny to boot!

Of course there are a lot of great lawyers that are great people too (in fact, I have worked with many) but these ladies are especially important as they focus primarily on small business. They also have a great offering called Venture Law Line where you can subscribe for about 150/mnth and have access to telephone consulting. Sounds like a no brainer for anybody starting up a business.

So if you’re looking for a lawyer that is startup friendly and that has also played with the ‘big boys’, you owe it to yourself and your company to check them out.
